The students of Podar Pearl School recently had an exciting and educational outing as they visited Qatar’s top radio stations Radio Olive 106.3 FM, the No.1 Hindi radio station, and Radio Suno 91.7 FM, the No. 1 Malayalam radio station in Qatar. This unique experience provided the young learners with a firsthand look at the dynamic world of radio broadcasting.
The visit began with a warm welcome from the team of Olive Suno Radio Network. The children were thrilled to meet the radio jockeys who they had only heard on air before. The tour of the stations were both fun and informative. The students were shown around the different departments, including the recording studios, the editing rooms, and the live broadcast area. They learned about the various roles and responsibilities of the various team members at the radio stations, from the radio jockeys and sound engineers to the producers and technical staff.
One of the highlights of the visit was the students watching a live broadcast in action. The students observed how the radio jockeys engage with their audience, manage song requests, and handle live calls. The children were fascinated by the behind-the-scenes activities that go into creating a seamless and entertaining radio show that make us the largest and the favorite Radio network in the State of Qatar. They even got a chance to interact with the RJs, asking questions about their work and about the vibrant world of radio.
After exploring Radio Olive 10.3 FM, the students proceeded to Radio Suno 91.7 FM. Here, they experienced the vibrant world of Radio Suno 91.7 FM. Here again, the children were given an overview of the station’s operations. They learned how Radio Suno 91.7 FM connects with the Malayalam-speaking community in Qatar, providing news, music, and entertainment, making us the favorite Malayalam Radio station in the country.
A cherry on the icing was that the team of Olive Suno Radio Network were treated to some special performances by the smart & talented children of the school which were beautifully arranged & coordinated by their supportive teachers. The students sang popular film songs and poems. Watching them perform made the team members of the Radio stations reminisce their school days. This visit was more than just a fun outing; it was an eye-opening educational experience for the students of Podar Pearl School. It allowed them to see how teamwork, creativity, and technology come together in the world of radio. The trip sparked an interest in media and mass communications amongst the young visitors, and many went back with their eyes full of dreams of becoming future radio stars!
