With the new restriction to curb the COVID-19 infection in Qatar, Qatar Rail announced that Doha Metro will reduce capacity to 20% during weekdays. The operations will be suspended during weekends as a part of the restriction imposed in Qatar to prevent the spread of Covid-19 second wave.
On Wednesday, Qatar Cabinet reimposed many Covid-19 precautionary measures. This has been done as the cases have risen in the past few days.
Qatar Rail tweeted on the social media “In view of the precautionary measures taken to reduce the spread of Covid-19, Doha Metro, metrolink and metroexpress services are operating at a 20% capacity from Sunday to Thursday.”
They further elucidated, “Services are suspended on Fridays and Saturdays starting April 9, 2021 and until further notice”.
