The situation that have panned out are similar for both the teams as they were almost 11 years ago. In 2008 the India and New Zealand qualified for the U-19 World Cup and incidentally guess who the 2 captains were? Yes, present captains for the respective teams, Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson.
As fans recollect the previous match, the weather conditions were also pretty much the same. At the time, Kohli had delivered a spell of 7 overs giving only 27 runs to the Kiwis. He had also picked up the wicket of captain New Zealand. Even though young for such a pressuring performance, Virat had scored 43 runs in the match. As is evident, Indian team won the World Cup then.
Apart from the captain, the squad also has Trent Boult, Tim Southee, and Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who are also a part of their respective teams 11 years after the fateful match.
It would be interesting to watch the whole show unfold and see whether situations take a turn for New Zealand this time or will Virat repeat history.
