HALAMAMA PRESENTS GARANGAO FIESTA 2022

Radio Olive Suno Network hosted a grand celebration “Garangao Fiesta” on 14th of April 2022. The evening was centered around the traditional festival of Garangao; Garangao is celebrated on the 14th day of every Ramadan and is most enjoyed by children as a celebration of having fasted for half of the Holy Month, Olive Suno network’s bonanza invited children aged 3 to 12 to participate in the Garangao Fiesta.

A wide range of activities were organized, and all the children participated with enthusiasm in games like musical chairs, pass the ball as well as getting henna painted onto themselves. To celebrate the Garangao festival, girls wore traditional gowns with embroidery and gold jewelry like earrings, necklaces, and bangles, while boys wear traditional Qatari dress ‘Thawb,’ jackets, and caps.

Garangao encourages children to learn about traditions and brings a chance to connect with each other, as well as to the community during the holy month. Young ones danced to ‘Garangao Garangao Atona Atona, Allah Yatikom (Give us, Allah will give you).

Shaikh Faleh Bin Ghanem Al Thani, Chairman, graced the event with his presence and presented children with certificates and gifts along with Co-founder and MD Ameer Ali Paruvally ,Krishna Kumar  and our sponsors. A wide range of hampers, food, sweets and goodies were awarded to children. Halamama, the title sponsor gave-away an electric scooter to the winner of the ‘raffle draw’ that happened during the evening. This event was being supported by Sebamed, Poney, Afghan Brothers, QBake, Fast Track Electronics & Home Appliances and Rayyan Natural Water.

Over the past few years Garangao has gain more attraction with people from various communities joining together. Celebration of Garangao with children brings a chance of connect to with each other during the holy month, and Radio Olive Suno Network is proud to be an active part of the community and celebrate this auspicious festival.
