Due to COVID19 infections, events now have to get prior approval on Metrash 2 which is now easier to get after certain precautionary mesaures. In a recent statement Major Ali Ahmed Al Binali, Head of e-Services Section of the Information Systems Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) shared required information regarding the same. He said that now anyone can submit an application for holding an event (for example wedding or condolence) through Metrash2 application. Approval shall be granted immediately once the pledge of following precautionary measures is signed by the applicant.
While speaking to a local channel he said, “After submitting the request, the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) representatives visit the venue of approved event to ensure that the measures recommended by the competent authorities are applied in order to prevent the spread of the virus.”
Al Binali also invited people to engage more with the Metrash 2 app. He added that all its services are safe for use. He further added that a proposal is being studied to take advantage of artificial intelligence (AI) by providing technical support to Metrash2 users without human intervention. They are in the process of developing an automated response to public inquiries regarding any problem of using the digital platform.
Major Al Binali also added that last year more than 7 million transactions were completed through Metrash2 only. Additionally, the number of users from the service, reached 2 million. Also the total number of services now available on Metrash2 is 220. All these services were activated and online without the need to visit the Ministry’s departments.
