10th Qatar International Food Festival Is An Event You Can’t Miss

If you ever want to experience a country’s culture, it must be done by tasting the local cuisine that it has to offer. Qatar 2019 Food Festival is a place which has been taking care of that for almost a decade now.

The 10th Anniversary Edition of Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) is a delight for all food enthusiasts in Qatar. Hosted at the scenic Oxygen Park, the event started on the 20th and will continue till 30th of March.

The opening event was attended by H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice-Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation; H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson Qatar Museums; and Akbar Al Baker, Secretary-General of Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) and Group Chief Executive of Qatar Airways.

The decade old multicultural festival is a must for anyone who wants to explore the culinary heritage that Qatar has to offer, an initiative by the Qatar National Tourism Council. Qatar National Tourism Council’s mission is to firmly establish Qatar on the global map as a place where cultural authenticity meets modernity, and where people of the world come together to experience unique offerings in culture, sports, business and family entertainment.

It is supported by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) a non-profit organization that supports Qatar on its journey to becoming a diversified and sustainable economy.

QF was founded in 1995 by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir, and Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, who shared the vision to provide Qatar with quality education. Today, Qatar Foundation’s world-class education system offers lifelong learning opportunities to community members as young as six months through to doctoral level, enabling graduates to thrive in a global environment and contribute to the nation’s development.

The opening day saw cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs Masaharu Morimoto, Dominique Ansel and Noora Al Kuwari who are among the 37 top international and local culinary artists from 17 different countries — the largest number of celebrity chefs hosted in any one edition of the QIFF.

Apart from the variety of tastings on offer for tourists and families in Qatar QIFF 2019 offer Free Cooking Masterclass with Top International Chefs.

During the festival, Chef’s Garden Restaurant in Education City will be hosting 9 masterclasses with:

Turkish Barista trainer Sam Ceviköz on 20, 21, 23 March;

Egyptian chef Salma Souleiman on 26 & 27 March;

South African chef Siba Mtongana on 27 & 29 March;

South African chef Jenny Morris on 26 & 29 March

While there will be a masterclass with:

Japanese chef Masharu Morimoto on 23 March at Morimoto Restaurant in Mondrian Hotel Doha.
