World Physiotherapy Day is celebrated annually on September 8 to recognize the crucial role that physiotherapists play in enhancing global health and well-being. Established by the World Confederation for Physical Therapy, the day promotes awareness about the benefits of physical therapy in preventing and managing injuries, illnesses, and disabilities.
Physiotherapy focuses on restoring movement, reducing pain, and improving physical function through exercises, manual therapy, and education. Whether aiding in rehabilitation after surgery or supporting chronic conditions like arthritis, physiotherapists help people lead healthier, more active lives. This year’s theme emphasizes the role of physiotherapists in supporting people with arthritis.
The focus is on raising awareness of the positive impact that physiotherapy can have on managing arthritis symptoms, improving mobility, and promoting independence. World Physiotherapy Day serves as a reminder of the importance of movement in our everyday lives and the value of professional support in achieving optimal physical health.
In honor of World Physiotherapy Day, Olive Suno Radio Network had the pleasure of hosting a special physiotherapy session at our office, led by the esteemed Dr. Reshma Gaurav, alongside Dr. Sheena. The class focused on addressing the physical challenges that arise from desk-bound work, a common issue many of us face due to prolonged hours of sitting.
Dr. Reshma shared invaluable insights on how to alleviate discomfort caused by poor posture and extended periods of sitting. She demonstrated simple, effective stretches and posture corrections that can be seamlessly integrated into our daily routines, helping to prevent long-term physical issues.
The session was incredibly beneficial, equipping our team with practical tools to improve their overall well-being at work. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Reshma and Dr. Sheena for their time and expertise, which have made a positive and lasting impact on our workday habits.
At Olive Suno Network, we prioritise creating a healthy work environment, and initiatives like these underscore our commitment to the health and wellness of our team.
