-Emojis were first known as emoticon as the concept was launched by a computer scientist Scott Fahman, he suggested text based symbols like a happy face would be colon : a dash and a bracket ).
-World Emoji Day was first celebrated in the year 2014 by Emojipedia (an online encyclopedia for all the emojis) founder Jeremy Burge.
-Burge chose July 17th as the date for the annual celebration because it is the date displayed on the calendar emoji on Apple’s iOS.
-Each year on this day there are announcements of new emojis coming up.
