QATAR’S COVID-19 VACCINE DRIVE REACHES MULTIPLE MILESTONES

Qatar has been working swiftly and diligently to make sure that vulnerable population and residents receive the COVID-19 vaccination at the earliest. Due to the rigorous hard-work there are multiple milestones that have been reached. As per information given in a recent conference addressed by Chair of the National Health Strategic Group on COVID-19 and Head of Infectious Diseases at Hamad Medical Corporation Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal, around 12 % of the population who are above 16 years of age have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Further more, above of 70% health workers at HMC and more than 67% of primary care workers have also received the vaccine.

As for the upcoming week, private hospital and clinic health workers will also get their vaccine. This will be done as per preapproved appointment. The goal as of now is to vaccinate a major population of Qatar by the summers.

Residents are still requested to adhere to all the precautions which includes maintaining sanitization, adhering to social distancing and wearing mask at all public places is mandatory.
