Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra is happening in Qatar on dates 11 , 13, 17,19 & 27 of January,2018.

  • 11 January 2018 6pm, Thursday.
    QPO performance at Museum of Islamic Art Atrium (Free entry):
    CHAMBER MUSIC AT MUSEUM OF ISLAMIC ART: DEATH AND THE MAIDEN :This performance features the String Quartet No. 14 in D minor, known as Death and the Maiden, a piece by Franz Schubert, which has been dubbed as “one of the pillars of the chamber music” And the short piece Italian Serenade by Hugo Wolf presented by Mohamed Oweda (violin), Anne-Cathrin Ehrlich (violin),  Kahraman Seref (viola) and Olivia Farkas (cello).

    MUSIC AND PICTURES FROM A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY
    Conducted by Frank Strobel and narrated by Manfred Callse, through the European Film Philharmonic Institute of Berlin, QPO has secured the rights to perform the music of the most trending and favorite through generations. With strong right protections, they refuse to formally state the names and put themselves in danger, following the footsteps of last January, get ready to meet Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, and many more.

    MAHLER’S FIFTH SYMPHONY
    Conducted by Marcus Bosch, this concert features the Symphony no.5 by Gustav Mahler composed in 1901- 02, at Mahler’s holiday cottage at Maiernigg, Austria.  Sometimes described as being in the key of C-Sharp minor , with a huge musical canvas and emotional scope, this work lasting over an hour is pleasure for both new comers and those fond of classical music alike.
