METRASH 2 : NEW TRAFFIC SERVICES NOW AVAILABLE FOR ALL

The General Directorate of Traffic, represented by the Licensing Department, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Information Systems, has now launched two new services for the public through the “Metrash 2” application. The first service will be to contest registered traffic violations and the second service to report traffic violations using “Communicate with us’ option of Metrash2.
Lieutenant-Colonel Mohammad Rabia al-Kuwari office at the violations section of the General Directorate of Traffic, mentioned in statement that the service to contest a traffic violation through the Metrash 2 allows the objector to file an objection to the traffic violation within a period which may not be exceeding fourteen days from the date of registration of the violation.

The objector will then be receiving a reply through a text message within a period not exceeding thirty days from the date of registration of the objection. In case the violation is found correct, normal procedure will be applied for the case. In case it has been found incorrect, the violation shall be removed. Using this service All types of traffic violations can be contested which include ones recorded manually or by speed radars or surveillance cameras. As per the rules, a violation cannot be contested more than once and if the fine is already paid, it cannot be contested any more.

“The second service gives anyone the right to report traffic violations, whether in in the road or anywhere else using Metrash2. The sender should capture the photo of violation and specify its location before sending it through Metrash2. Traffic Violations Section will verify them and act accordingly,” stated Al-Kuwari.

Directorate launched the automated response system on its public service number of 234 4444 and First Lieutenant Eid Mohamed Al Hajri said the public can inquire about traffic violation, driving license, vehicles and number plates, technical examination, service for people with disabilities, traffic awareness, traffic patrols and traffic investigations through this number. It will work 24/7 and calls are received in Arabic and English.
