The dawn of 20th Aug came with a pleasant surprise for Cdr Vijay Verma and his Naval team who rescued two women from a house in Kochi. The two women paid their gratitude to their rescuers by painting their rooftop with “Thanks”. The note was painted on 17th Aug .
The Navy’s efforts to rescue the flood hit people have been immensely praised. On 19th Aug, a chopper manned by Indian Navy rescue team landed on a narrow rooftop to save an 80 year old woman. Earlier, the Navy team had airlifted a pregnant lady from her home in Alleppey. One boy was airlifted by Flight Driver Amit and the chopper was again manned by Cdr Vijay Verma.
