India is getting ready for the FIFA with a team of tiny toddlers. These kids,  between the age of 4 & 13 are the participants of Meghalaya Baby League 2018.  Aren’t they too cute to handle !!

The league was inaugurated at Shillong Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium where the kids take on the field in their lively jerseys every Saturday and on school holidays.  The rules of each game differ as per the age group.

A 10 minutes game is played for 4 years old children and for teenagers, it is 25 minutes.  And the most interesting part of this whole league is that every team must have at least 10%, female players. A great example of gender equality and competitiveness.

This initiative is taken by Tata Trusts, Meghalaya Football Association & All India Football Federation to provide a platform to the children at a young age and to promote football in a competitive way.  Inspired by Meghalaya, Bengaluru, and Orissa are also planning to start their own baby leagues in the coming months.
