As massive testing is done for all suspected cases, the number of recovery cases is also up by great numbers. This along with the fact that the number of death rates is one of the least among the world, bodes good news for all. To continue on this streak of flattening the curve, the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Public Health have come up with a few additional advisories for all :

1. The Ehteraz app which has been designed and developed in the Ministry of Interior , will help track disease transmission chains, alert individuals and stakeholders to expedite the provision of medical support and prioritizing testing. A great way to get ahead of the infection curve, the app is the perfect application to know all latest updates of COVID-19 in Qatar. As of now, it is available for download on the Apple App Store. As per officials, it will soon be available for Android users as well.

It is important for all residents to be aware of the situation while also practicing social distancing and proper hygiene. The app is also looked up to support spread health awareness tips and techniques necessary to prevent any infections.

2. As social distancing becomes important by the day, many people, regardless of age, can get anxious regarding the situation. To ease their anxiety, The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced the launch of their new helpline. This will provide support for people experiencing stress and anxiety as a result of the current Covid-19 pandemic.

The helpline comprises of trained and experienced medical health professionals who have the necessary tools to provide assessment and support to callers through four main categories: Children and parents; Adults; Older people; and Healthcare workers, the MoPH has informed on social media.

Callers can get assistance any time between 7am to 10pm every day on the toll-free number, 16000. One has to first select the language, then select 3 for HMC, and select 1 for HMC Urgent Consultation, the MoPH has explained through an infographic.

3. Right now it is the need of the hour that all of us play our part in flattening the curve, We have been constantly stressing that #YourSafetyIsMySafety. It essentially means that if we keep ourselves safe, we can keep our loved ones safe too. To emphasize on the importance of this, Ministry of Interior (MoI) has issued an advisory asking people to “make sure to have no more than two individuals in your car except for families”.

The move is part of the State’s efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19 through social distancing.
