EXCITING THING TO DO IN QATAR THIS WEEKEND

With MOI announcing the completion of all safety and security preparations for the school year, which begins next year. Which also means that summer holidays are going to end… but kids don’t need to worry as there are still many exciting activities happening in Doha this weekend.

Summer Entertainment City 2019

As part of Eid Al Adha celebrations,Summer Entertainment City has reopened The Virtual Reality and Gaming zone has VR simulators, gaming stations and themed gaming areas for various ages.

They also have retro-gaming area for people 35 years old and above as well who can actually connect with games like Pac-Man, Atari and Sega.

The main areas include amusement rides, skills games with prizes, trampoline park, a kids driving school setup, Qatar’s first InflataPark, the world’s largest bounce castle, a skate park, synthetic ice skating, Spider Climbing tower.

LEGO Festival

The free of charge festival features different LEGO activities in four different zones spread across Doha Festival City and has a variety of experiences from creative brick building to instructed challenges and physical activities for visitors to engage with.

Visitors can experience a LEGO zoo with life-size forms of several animals at the LEGO Jungle.

Souq Waqif Art Center

 

Doha-based artists Kristina Aladwan, Rajeesh Ravi and Sheetal assume the perspective of visitors witnessing the everyday goings-on at Souq Waqif as they scour the different corners of the traditional market looking for what to buy or what to do.

On show at Gallery 2, are 21 paintings which showcase traditional Qatari musical performances and indigenous musical instruments.

Back to School campaign

The Back to School campaign’s activities include a variety of ‘Story of Jassim’, where the story is distributed among the children to see the pictures and then write the correct number on the appropriate image, the parents can read the sentence, and ask the children to indicate the appropriate image in order to arrange the story. The aim of the stories is to introduce the student to the steps taken by Jassim on the first day of school.
