EID PRECAUTIONS PUBLIC SHOULD FOLLOW TO CELEBRATE SAFELY

Eid Al Fitr celebrations have begun amid COVID-19 restrictions in Qatar.

The Government Communications Office (GCO) as well as the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) have urged people to follow precautions during the Eid holidays.

“It is vital that precautionary measures continue to be followed during the blessed Eid Al Fitr to ensure the safety of our families and society and to support the ongoing efforts of the State of Qatar in limiting the spread of COVID-19,” said Twitter account of GCO.

They also urged people to wear masks and maintain social distancing during prayers at the mosques. They reminded that indoor gatherings are prohibited as well as maximum of five fully vaccinated people are allowed to gather outside. Health sector’s medical and administrative staff congratulated the people of Qatar on Eid Al Fitr stressing the importance of adhering to prevention guidelines.

Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al Thani, Director of Public Health at MoPH said: “We urge everyone to fully adhere to the preventive measures during Eid prayer and to avoid physical contact. We recall the Cabinet’s decision to prevent social gatherings and visits in homes and majalis and allowing only five fully vaccinated people to gather outdoors.”
