Eid-Al-Adha

Eid Al Adha – The feast of Sacrifice, is the second of two Islamic festivals celebrated every year. The first festival is Eid Al Fitr. Eid AL Adha is considered to be the holiest of the two. It is known as the Feast of Sacrifice to honour the sacrifice done by Ibrahim obeying God’s command. Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice his son.  Before he could sacrifice his son, God provided a Ram to sacrifice.

To celebrate this holy act, an animal (Preferably a goat) is sacrificed on Eid AL Adha, which falls on the 10th day of the final month in Islamic Calendar. The sacrificed animal is divided into three parts. One third is given to the poor and the needy, the second portion is distributed among relatives and friends and finally the remaining is retained by the family.

Muslims all across the world offer prayers at mosques during Eid AL Adha. Everyone embraces & exchanges greetings and gifts.  They invite friends and relatives to their Eid festivities.

Today, Eid Al Adha is being celebrated all over and othis occasion, Radio Olive wishes every one a blessed Eid Al Adha.
