HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari said that Qatar shall continue with the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccination programme as per plans. HE said this during the inauguration of a new Covid-19 Drive-Through Vaccination Center which happened on Monday in Lusail. This drive-through will provide another alternative option for residents to get their vaccines in the car.
She further noted that drive-through PCR testing centres had been very popular. With this drive-through centre, Qatar’s strategy to upgrade its National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme will be successful. This is being operated by Hamad Medical Corporation in collaboration with Primary Health Care Corporation. This centre will provide a huge boost to vaccination program to administer second doses to eligible people.
For his part, Dr Abdullatif al-Khal, who is the Chair of the National Health Strategic Group on Covid-19 and Head of Infectious Diseases at Hamad Medical Corp, said that the new Covid-19 Drive-Through Vaccination Center has been designed to provide a convenient way for people to receive their vaccinations. He further elaborated that the vaccines are administered in a discreet manner within a dedicated vaccination lane which cars can drive through, while the vaccine recipient remains in the comfort of their own vehicle.
This way the centre will increase the vaccination programme and enable the vaccination of many more people.
