The 30th edition of Doha International Book Fair is a buzzing place for every bibliophile that no one should miss. The event got off to a colorful start at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre on 9th January. The inauguration was done by HE the Minister Of Culture and Sports Salah Bin Ghanem Al Ali in the presence of HE the Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali, other ministers, dignitaries and ambassadors of various countries.
The Doha International Book Fair welcomed 335 publishing houses from 31 different countries to showcase their publishing. From science to art to philosophy, these publishing houses have books for everyone.
Given that this is the Qatar-France 2020 Year Of Culture, they are the special guests for the 30th edition of DIBF. The venue at DECC has special structures representing French architecture installed which is unmistakable. French and Qatari artists are also performing together at the venue to illustrate the wonderful relationship between these 2 nations.
Along with this, many Qatari Publishing Houses have also taken part in DIBF which include Katara Publishing House, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press, QU Press among others.
