Bollywood music is incomplete without A.R. Rahman and so is every Bollywood award list. While everyone has their favorite songs of the brilliant composer, here are a few special suggestions whose awards speak for themselves. Add them to your playlist or listen to them only on 106.3 FM Radio Olive.
1. Chhoti Si Asha :
The one that started it all, this album was the launch of Rahman in Bollywood film scene and the innocence portrayed in it unparalleled. He won the National Best Music Director award for this track.
2. Tanha Tanha :
A happily dancing Urmila wasn’t the only high-point of the song from “Rangeela”; the background score can bring a smile to any face, no matter what. The Maestro brought a smile to the jury’s face too as he won another Best Music Director for this musical piece.
3. Radha Kaise Na Jale :
Another award winning movie album which had this mesmerizing number. Surely, Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh had the most fun performing on this song and you shouldn’t skip it either.
4. Roobaroo :
A path breaking film with path breaking, award winning music as hit as the movie. This one song is one that we recommend you add to your list.
5. Jashne Bahara :
It wasn’t just a magnum opus, but a magnum opus with songs that stole millions of hearts. With a National Award winning background score, this number is a must on drive time playlist.
6. Pappu Can’t Dance :
A peppy number that marked the debut of actor Imran Khan and singer Benny Dayal as a part of every college student’s playlist. Not just this, it also won the National Filmfare Award for Best Music.
7. Sadda Haq :
It must have taken some pre-planning to decide Mohit Chauhan as Ranbir Kapoor’s voice for “Rockstar”. Only someone like a Rahman could have put in so much forethought and given an award-winning album.
