Bhansali had never seen her performance but destiny was meant to happen. Leela Bhansali was moved by Shreya’s voice and caliber when the latter won “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” and she asked son Sanjay to bring her on board.
2. Bhansali took 2 years too cast Shreya for the silliest reason:
SLB was keen on getting Shreya for his upcoming project but it took almost 2 years because he had forgotten her name and by then Shreya had traveled back to her home town in West Bengal.
3. Shreya is a perfectionist of diction:
Given that she sings in more than 10 different languages, Shreya is always particular about the pronunciations. To ease it out, she even writes the lyrics in Hindi and practices the words like a thorough professional.
4. She has a first in Madame Tussauds:
It isn’t in every artist’s cards, but when its Ms. Ghoshal nothing can stop her. She became the first ever singer to have a wax statue in the Indian Madame Tussauds Museum.
