Qatar is witnessing the biggest sporting event after 2006 Asian games, world class athletes and views from all around the world have arrived Doha for IIAF World athletics championship.
The event is taking place at the prestigious Khalifa international stadium where the advanced security system is already in place. However, The Marathon happening at Corniche and some peripheral roads will be closed for 11 hours from 6 pm to next day 5 am on September 26 and 27.
More road closures will be implemented in the coming days for other road races like 50km walk for both men and women (to start at 11:30 on September 28), 20 km Race Walk for women (to start at 11:30 on September 29) and men (to start at 11:30 on October 4). The men’s marathon, which will also be held at the Corniche, is scheduled to start at 11:59 pm on October 5.
Doha 2019 will see the debut of midnight marathon at the IAAF World Athletics Championships. This something to watch out for as Doha skyline will be brighter than ever under the moonlight during the event.
